Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2014/35/EU

The purpose of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU Low Voltage Directive is to establish the principles and procedures ensuring that electrical equipment placed on the market provides a high level of protection for the health and safety of humans, domestic animals, and property, while facilitating the proper functioning of the internal market.

This Directive applies to electrical equipment designed for use with a voltage rating between 50 V and 1000 V for alternating current (AC), and between 75 V and 1500 V for direct current (DC).
