Machinery is certified after being properly installed and maintained, and assessed to determine whether it poses any risk to human health, safety, or the environment. The machinery in question is defined in the Machinery Safety Regulation as “machinery, interchangeable equipment, safety components, lifting accessories, chains, ropes and webbing, detachable mechanical transmission devices, and partly completed machinery.”
Once it is verified that the defined machinery complies with the relevant annexes and requirements specified in the Machinery Safety Regulation, CE certification is carried out, enabling the product to be placed on the market.
